Established in 2025 Griffin Original Productions was created in response to the wealth of writing talent across the North West of Tasmania theatre community and to give an opportunity for original works to be brought to stage and screen.

Rebecca Griffin started the company as a way to produce her own original work ‘The Blindness’ from there she was inspired to share this opportunity with other local playwrights and screenwriters to give them an opportunity to see their work brought to life.

Our aim is to support artistic productions of North West Tasmanian, Tasmanian and Australian playwrights, screen writers and artists, exploring in their work themes of feminism, power, equality, gender, LGBTQIA+ experience, mental health, class and society.
